Welcome to FOPPL Volunteer Team-Work Page

th2VLOH8UR      We are looking for workers who are passionate about the importance of the library to the community as a whole!  We are looking for people who have special skills to share or wish to learn special skills with us in pursuing our mission of Rescuing the Pomona Library.

We have seven  teams listed below with individual skill areas to choose from.  You may choose the amount of time you have to volunteer and whether you wish to work at the Library or from your home.  We will keep in touch with you by face to face meeting, email or phone.  We encourage you to attend at least one meeting a year at the Library.  The eighth Friends Board is also a volunteer choice if you interested in a position; we need you!

Pomona Public Library is home to Laura Ingalls Wilders’ original handwritten manuscript of “Little Town on the Prairie” as well as letters written to long-time children’s librarian Clara Webber. Be sure to see this collection housed in the Laura Ingalls Wilder Children’s Room.

FRIENDS OF POMONA PUBLIC LIBRARY is active in raising funds to give needed support for the Pomona Public Library programs & services.

Our all-volunteer organization raises funds through:

  • Friends Bookstore in the Library (sales of used books, sales of new citrus reproduction labels and blankets – all donated)
  • Monthly used book sales from the parking lot.
  • Amazon online used book sales
  • Monthly silent auction in the Library
  • Basket Raffles
  • Special events: Walkathon and Appraisal Day.
  • Donations
